France Business

Overview

In keeping with other major Western economies France has been experiencing a difficult economic climate since 2008.

Unemployment is around 10% and questions are being asked about the French economic model which historically featured a high level of government intervention.

Privatisation of transport and utilities, and reduction of government influence in major industries, has been relatively slow resulting in other European economies becoming more competitive.

France is the 5th largest global economy and has some world leading companies organisations in banking, finance, aeronautics and hi-tech fields.
